Cultural Recreation Advisory Board

City Council approved the formation of the Cultural Recreation Advisory Board on April 23, 2003.  Initially, seven residents were appointed to the Board. In 2008 the City Council decided that the Board should be composed of between nine to fifteen residents with new and returning Board members appointed approximately every two years. In 2015, Board member recruitment became an annual process for two-year appointment terms.

The purpose of the Cultural Recreation Advisory Board is to assist City Council in matters pertaining to cultural, recreational and special events, parks, and the operation of recreational facilities either owned by the City.

Along with two Councilmembers, the Board is comprised of a minimum of 9 adult members and one youth member, a sophomore in high school. The Board shall not exceed a maximum of 15 members. There may be more than one youth member if appointed by the City Council.
