WESTLAKE VILLAGE DOG PARK

ABOUT

The Westlake Village Dog Park will be a special place where dogs can safely socialize, play, and exercise off-leash, along with their owners. This 1.19 acre park is specially designed to separately accommodate small and large dogs. The Park is scheduled to open in late fall of 2017.

Southwest corner of West Oak Crest Drive and Agoura Road.

SITE SPECIFICATIONS

1.19 acres

Small dog area:  14,160 Sq. Ft.

Large dog area:  18,120 Sq. Ft.

 PARK FEATURES

The master plan for the project features a main park entry with two commemorative seat walls designed for those who would like to honor their best friend. Features of the park include a shade shelter with picnic seating, open play natural turf spaces with mounds and boulders, drinking fountains, tables, benches, leash posts, pet-waste dispensers, trash containers, decomposed granite walkways, fencing, landscaping, and pet wash stations. Future amenities include water play equipment in each of the separate play areas.

PARK HOURS

The park will be open daily until dusk with the final park hours determined prior to opening.

BREED RESTRICTIONS

There are none at this time. All dogs must have a current license and updated shots to use the facility. Dogs in heat are not permitted.

RULES

 The City is in the process of establishing park rules for the safety of both park patrons and their four-legged friends.

 PARKING

On-street parking will be available along Oak Crest Drive for approximately 25 cars.

RESTROOMS

There will be no restrooms available at the site.  Public restrooms are available at the Westlake Village Civic Center located at 31200 Oak Crest Drive, approximately .34 miles from the Dog Park. 

DOG PARK COMMEMORATIVE DONOR WALL CAMPAIGN

For those animal lovers who are interested in honoring their best friend, the Westlake Village Community Foundation is kicking off the Dog Park Commemorative Donor Wall Campaign.  For a limited time, City of Westlake Village residents have the opportunity to recognize a canine family member or friend on a donor seat wall specifically designed as an entrance feature into the Park. Each donor plaque can be purchased for $500. The 6”x 6” plaque will accommodate up to 40 characters of script. Plaques can also feature an image of your pet and can be purchased for $1,200. Additional charges for plaques featuring a pet may be required depending on the quality of the artwork submitted. All funds raised will be used toward the construction and on-going maintenance of the new Dog Park. Apply for the donor wall plaque online by clicking here.
