Ned Davis was elected for a four-year term to serve as a member of the Westlake Village City Council on November 6, 2007, and took his oath of office November 28, 2007. In November, 2009, Ned was selected to serve as Mayor Pro Tem, and in November, 2010, Ned was selected to serve as Mayor. In November 2011, Ned was elected to his second four-year term, and November 2015 to his current term.
Ned is a business consultant working under his company banner Azure Blues Inc. with a focus on operations management, including workflow processes, human resource management and applied Internet Technologies.
Davis began his career in television facilities management in post-production sound at Glen Glenn in Hollywood . Later he worked at KABC-TV, on local news broadcast and magazine programs. His 30 year career in production has credits on many popular network programs. Ned’s directing team is a two time winner of the DGA Best Directing Award for work on the 1990’s CBS/Warner Bros. hit Murphy Brown , starring Candice Bergen. Ned received an Emmy nomination as a producer and a Humanitas Award on the long running series.
Ned moved to Westlake Village in 1993. He served 9 years on the board of the Westlake Trails HOA , 6 as President. Ned has served 5 years as Vice President on the board of the Las Virgenes Educational Foundation and is a long-standing member of the Measure E Oversight Committee for the LVUSD. Prior to his election to the City Council, Ned served several years on the city’s Cultural Recreation Committee.
Ned received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from UCLA and an MBA from Pepperdine. He also holds a California Real Estate Brokers license. He is married to Helen (m.1981) and they have 3 children, all who attend public schools.
