1. When is it appropriate to call 911 or the Sheriff's Station directly?

IN AN EMERGENCY, always call 911! When calling from a land-line or cell phone in our area, your call will be directly answered by the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station. If your call is NOT AN EMERGENCY, call the Lost Hills Sheriff Station's business line at 818-878-1808. Lost Hills Sheriff's Station is led by Captain Josh Thai.

2. Does the City impose any requirements for door-to-door solicitation?

Yes. Solicitors in the City are required to have a license from Los Angeles County, and solicitation activities are prohibited during the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00am except during Daylight Savings Time when it is prohibited from 7:00pm to 9:00am. If suspicious of any solicitation activities, please call the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station at 818-878-1808.

3. How long can a vehicle be parked on a public street?

Vehicles may not be left parked on a public street for more than 72 hours. Residents may report vehicles left on public streets to the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station at 818-878-1808. Abandoned or inoperable vehicles left on private property are the responsibility of the property owner, and may be reported to the Planning Department at 818- 706-1613.

4. Who handles Animal Control Services for the City?

The City of Westlake Village contracts with Los Angeles County to provide animal control services.  The Agoura Animal Shelter currently covers 125 square miles, providing field services to Westlake Village and five other cities including the unincorporated Los Angeles County area.  Los Angeles County Animal Control Agoura Hills Animal Shelter is located on 29525 Agoura Road, Agoura Hills, CA 91301 and can be contacted through telephone at 818-991-0071.

5. Are the restrictions on parking recreation vehicles, trucks, and trailers on City streets?

Vehicles exceeding twenty-one feet, eighty inches in width, or eighty-two inches in height may not park on any streets within the City for longer than four hours at any one time.  Vehicles which are in the active process of being loaded or unloaded can be parked up to 24 hours along with vehicles engaging in emergency repairs of a home or business.    For temporary parking of recreational vehicles, please visit our Oversized Vehicle Permit page or contact City Hall at 818-706-1613.  All temporary oversized vehicle permit requests should be made at least 72 hours in advance.

6. What information does the City provide on Emergency Preparedness?

7. Where can I go to get finger printing?

8. Are there any Sheriff's Department programs specifically for juveniles?

The Lost Hills Sheriff's Station Juvenile Intervention Team (J-Team) is a group of specially trained Deputies and Detectives that handle mostly matters relating to residents under the age of 18.  The J-Team works closely with the schools in our area.  To contact the J-Team, please call the Lost Hills Station at 818-878-1808.

10. Where are the regulations on Noise in the City?

 The City's Municipal Code includes provisions regarding excessive noise. Construction hours are between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am and 5:00 pm on Saturdays.
No construction noise is permitted on Sundays or Holidays. Loud parties, band rehearsals, and equipment operation are frequent causes of noise complaints. Excessive noise during business hours may be directed to the Planning Department at 818-706-1613. Noise complaints after business hours should be directed to the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station at 818- 878-1808.

12. Does the City have a Volunteer Patrol program?
