Community Park Pickleball Courts

Pickleball courts are coming to the Westlake Village Community Park soon! On October 25th, 2023, the Westlake Village City Council approved a contract to build four pickleball courts for public use at the park. On this page you will find information on what is being built, a construction timeline, and the history of the project.

What is Pickleball? 

It's a game that everyone can enjoy! Pickleball was created for players of all ages and is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States. It is a paddle sport that is similar to tennis, or even ping pong. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.

Construction Timeline 

  • Project construction will commence the week of November 27, 2023 with relocation / removal of parking lot trees where the Pickleball Courts will be located. 
  • The construction will be phased to minimize parking impacts during construction.  
  • The initial construction phase will focus on improving the parking and drive aisle on the east side of the YMCA instructional court.
  • This construction area will be fenced off through December 2023, however the parking lot and drive aisle adjacent to the soccer fields will remain open for use.  
  • In January 2024, the newly improved parking and drive aisle will be opened for use and the construction area fencing will be relocated to replace the drive aisle adjacent the soccer field where the four new pickleball courts will be constructed.
  • Project completion is anticipated in late spring.
