Public Safety Committee
Members
- Mayor Ray Pearl
- Councilmember Brad Halpern
Duties
The Public Safety Committee evaluates and advises the City Council on the status of programs, projects, activities, and services impacting the health, welfare, and safety of the residents of the community. For example, the Committee provides oversight of such public safety services as police, fire, ambulance, crossing guards, anti-drug programs, emergency preparedness / disaster response, and the like.
The Committee also addresses traffic safety issues by interfacing with the City's Contract Traffic Engineer and staff in evaluating and recommending traffic related improvements and programs (i.e., signing and striping in the public right-of-way, signal timing, traffic law enforcement, etc.) to the full City Council.
Meeting Schedule
For 2023, starting in March, meetings are scheduled for the 3rd Thursday of the month. Meetings are conducted hybrid. See posted agenda on how to attend in-person or virtually.
